Job Title: RN Oncology
Job Summary:
The RN Oncology is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with cancer. They will work closely with oncologists and other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and administer medications. The RN Oncology will also provide education and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the cancer journey.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing cancer patients and developing individualized care plans
- Administering chemotherapy and other medications
- Monitoring patients for side effects and complications related to cancer treatment
- Providing education to patients and families on cancer and treatment options
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers to coordinate care
- Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records
- Providing emotional support to patients and families throughout the treatment process
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Previous experience in oncology nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
