Job Title: Scrub Technologist
Job Summary:
A Scrub Technologist is a highly skilled healthcare professional who provides assistance to surgeons and other healthcare workers in the operating room. They are responsible for preparing and setting up the surgical equipment, ensuring the sterile environment, and providing support during the surgical procedure. The Scrub Technologist must have a strong understanding of surgical procedures, instruments, and protocols to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for surgery
- Maintain sterile technique throughout the surgical procedure
- Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgeries
- Maintain accurate count of all surgical instruments and supplies
- Ensure proper disposal of medical waste after the surgical procedure
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure patient safety
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a related field
- Certification from an accredited program for Surgical Technologists
- Current certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Detail-oriented and able to follow strict protocols and procedures
- Basic computer skills
