Job title: Intensive Care RN / Coronary Nurse (ICU)
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care RN / Coronary Nurse (ICU) is responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. They monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medication, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patient conditions in the intensive care unit
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
3. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
4. Provide emotional support to patients and their families
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
6. Monitor and operate medical equipment in the ICU
7. Assist with patient transfers and discharges
8. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in critical care nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in intensive care nursing
4. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
7. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
