Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in emergency medical situations. They must be able to assess and act quickly in critical situations, prioritize patient needs, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct initial patient assessments and triage patients based on severity of condition.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
3. Monitor patient vital signs and provide ongoing care as needed.
4. Assist in emergency medical procedures, including intubation, CPR, and wound care.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
6. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and follow-up care.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations
