Job title: Surgical Technologist
Job Summary: As a Surgical Technologist, you will assist surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and organizing the operating room, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring sterile conditions are maintained. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
3. Hand surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
4. Maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
5. Assist in transferring patients to and from the operating room.
6. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment.
7. Assist in patient positioning and draping.
8. Perform counts of surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies before and after procedures.
9. Help in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
10. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
2. High school diploma or GED required.
3. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
9. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist in lifting and positioning patients.
10. CPR certification required.
