Job Title: Infection Preventionist / Employee Health Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infection Preventionist / Employee Health Nurse to join our healthcare team. The primary role of this position is to prevent and control infections within the healthcare setting and ensure the health and safety of employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of infection control practices and procedures, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection control policies and procedures
- Monitor and investigate healthcare-associated infections
- Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention practices
- Conduct surveillance of infectious diseases and outbreaks
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to implement infection control measures
- Manage employee health programs, including immunizations and screenings
- Conduct employee health assessments and provide medical care as needed
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities
- Stay current on infection control guidelines and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention and control
- Strong knowledge of epidemiology and infectious diseases
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
