Job Title: RN Emergency Room Nurse
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse provides care to patients in emergency situations, assessing patients' conditions, administering treatment, and coordinating with healthcare team members to ensure patient needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. The Emergency Room Nurse must be able to work well under pressure and respond quickly to the dynamic and unpredictable nature of emergency situations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the emergency room
- Administer medication and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, and report any changes to healthcare team members
- Assist in emergency procedures such as intubation, CPR, and wound care
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families to provide information and support
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide education to patients and families on post-emergency care and follow-up
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- At least 2 years of experience as an RN in an emergency room setting
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
