Job Title: RN Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU)
Job Summary:
The RN Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) is responsible for providing specialized care to patients in critical condition, particularly those with cardiac issues. They work in the intensive care unit (ICU) and closely monitor patients, administer treatments, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, administer medications, and implement treatment plans
- Communicate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate care for patients
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure accurate documentation of treatment and progress
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and family members
- Assist in emergency situations and respond to critical incidents effectively
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards in nursing practice
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Previous experience in intensive care or coronary nursing preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
