Job Title: Perioperative/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse
Job Summary:
The PACU Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. They assess and monitor patients' vital signs, manage pain levels, and provide post-operative care to ensure a safe and smooth recovery. The PACU Nurse works closely with the surgical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for all patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgery
2. Administer medications and manage pain levels as needed
3. Assist with post-operative care, including monitoring vitals and managing potential complications
4. Educate patients and their families on recovery expectations and care
5. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure a comprehensive and effective treatment plan
6. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
7. Follow hospital protocols and safety guidelines at all times
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certifications
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative or PACU nursing
4. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
7. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
