Job Title: Patient Access Manager
Job Summary: The Patient Access Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the patient registration and admissions process at a healthcare facility. This includes coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance coverage, collecting patient information, and ensuring a smooth and efficient registration process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Manage a team of patient access representatives to ensure all registration and admissions processes are handled efficiently and accurately
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient access processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
3. Coordinate with other departments, such as billing and financial services, to streamline the patient registration process and resolve any issues that arise
4. Train new staff members on registration processes and ensure they have the skills and resources necessary to perform their job duties effectively
5. Work closely with insurance providers to verify coverage and eligibility for patients and coordinate billing and payment processes
6. Monitor key performance metrics related to patient access processes and identify opportunities for improvement
7. Address patient concerns and complaints related to the registration and admissions process in a timely and professional manner
8. Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices in patient access management
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field
2. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient access or admissions
3. Strong leadership and organizational skills
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other healthcare software
6. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
7. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks
