Job Title: Obstetrics RN
Job Summary:
The Obstetrics RN plays a crucial role in providing care to pregnant women before, during, and after childbirth. They work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the health of pregnant women and their unborn babies
- Provide prenatal care and education to expectant mothers
- Assist with labor and delivery, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs
- Provide postpartum care to new mothers and newborns
- Educate new mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum health
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for mother and baby
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in Obstetrics Nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Compassion and empathy for patients and their families
