Job Title: Director of Nursing
Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of nursing care within a healthcare facility. This includes supervision of nursing staff, development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures, and ensuring quality patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Oversee and supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
2. Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high standards of patient care.
3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
4. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
5. Monitor and analyze nursing department budget and expenses.
6. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
7. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments within the facility.
8. Lead and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
9. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among nursing staff.
10. Stay abreast of current trends and developments in nursing practice.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Master's degree preferred.
2. Valid RN license.
3. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
4. Strong leadership and management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
