Job Title: Acute Care/ED/Inpatient Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Acute Care/ED/Inpatient team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, emergency department and inpatient setting. As a CNA, you will work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to assist patients with basic care needs, while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, to promote their independence and overall well-being.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate.
- Support nursing staff in the delivery of medical treatments and procedures, such as wound dressings, specimen collection, and urinary catheterizations.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of patient information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with patient mobility, including transferring and positioning patients to prevent skin breakdown and maintain patient comfort.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, restocking supplies as needed.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and codes within the unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to create a positive and supportive working environment.
- Provide emotional support and help ease patient and family anxieties during their hospital stay.
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and infection control protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in your state.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in an acute care, emergency department, or inpatient setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring attention to detail and patient safety.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain a professional and caring demeanor at all times.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
